Thanksgiving and Progress

We are experiencing a gentler and slower pace out in the country this week on our land in southern Missouri.

Last night we slept under three of the quilts I made, (the Christmas quilt, the Batik quilt, and the Valentine quilt), on the covered deck my husband built several summers ago. It feels good to be living the fruits of our labor in this setting.

I love looking at the color of the leaves as they turn and feeling the cooler weather, as we take the next steps toward our dream.

I have started writing a weekly activity booklet for parents to download to help their children get ready for Farm Arts Nature Camp this summer. The first booklet will be ready for December 1st release at

It is so great to be actually designing the activities and putting the kits together for F.A.N.Camp. The list of possibilities has been started at, (click on FAN Camp).

It will be so exciting to share our experiences with campers.

We are having a different kind of Thanksgiving this week.

Farm Arts Nature Camp

I am setting up sessions and schedules for summer camp.

It’s called Farm Arts Nature Camp, F.A.N.Camp.

It will be at Windwalker Camp in Southwest Missouri, in the foothills of the Ozarks, near Neosho, MO, south of Joplin.  Our land is almost 45 acres which is very forested with a two-acre area which has been cleared for tent camping, private composting toilets, and a covered deck, cooking on a propane grill, starry nights, hiking in the woods, keeping a Naturalist Journal, and many more activities.  Take a look at the list of possibilities at   You can also check out the session dates.
I am combining all my favorite things to do, learning about animals, gardening, drawing and painting, and learning about Nature, into weekly activities while I am here in town.

I am starting to write the activity booklets for a weekly Farm Arts Nature Club.

This will help me, and you, too, if you participate, to get ready for summer camp.

You can find out about it at  Click on FAN Camp.
